1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Local Taxi (https://localtaxi.in/), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.
2. Description of Service
Local Taxi is a taxi discovery, booking and enquiry platform that connects travellers with verified local taxi partners across India. We provide:
- A directory of local taxi operators and their services
- Route information with estimated fares and distances
- Instant bookings on routes where a partner has published a fixed price, including online collection of an advance payment
- Free enquiry forms that are broadcast to eligible verified partners in the pickup city
- Reviews and ratings of taxi partners
Important: Local Taxi acts as an intermediary platform. We connect you with independent taxi operators but do not directly provide transportation services.
2.1. Platform Role — Mediator Only
Local Taxi is a technology and marketing mediator between travellers ("customers") and independent taxi operators, vehicle owners, drivers, tour operators, hotels, and other travel service providers ("partners" or "vendors"). We are not a transport company, travel agency, or direct service provider ourselves.
Our role is limited to:
- Displaying partner listings, routes, fares, availability, and reviews
- Facilitating enquiries and, where enabled, collecting advance payments as an agent on behalf of partners
- Providing tools for partners to manage their rates, inventory, and bookings
The actual contract for transportation or any other service is directly between you and the partner you select. Local Taxi is not a party to that contract and is not responsible for the partner's performance, quality, safety, timeliness, vehicle condition, driver behaviour, cancellations, insurance coverage, licensing, or compliance with applicable laws.
3. Booking & Enquiries
- Submitting an enquiry form is not a confirmed booking. It is confirmed only when a verified partner accepts it and the fare is agreed
- An instant booking is confirmed only once the advance payment shown at checkout has been successfully received and verified. Until then the booking is held as unpaid and may be cancelled automatically
- Fares shown as estimates are indicative and may vary with availability, season and route conditions. Where a partner has published a fixed route price, that price is what you are charged for the trip as booked; changes to the trip may change the fare
- Final fare, terms, and cancellation policies are determined by the individual taxi partner
4. User Responsibilities
When using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information in booking and contact forms
- Not misuse the platform for spam, fraud, or illegal activities
- Not submit false reviews or misleading information
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the taxi partner you book with
- Behave respectfully towards taxi drivers and partners
5. Taxi Partner Responsibilities
While we verify taxi partners listed on our platform, Local Taxi is not responsible for:
- The quality, safety, or timeliness of transportation services provided by partners
- Any disputes between you and the taxi partner regarding fares, routes, or service quality
- Vehicle condition, driver behaviour, or insurance coverage
- Cancellations or no-shows by the partner
We encourage users to verify partner details and confirm bookings directly before travel.
6. Reviews & User Content
- Reviews submitted on our platform are published automatically and reflect the opinion of the reviewer
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, or violate these terms
- By submitting a review, you grant Local Taxi a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use your review on our platform
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software — is the property of Local Taxi or its content suppliers and is protected by Indian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
Local Taxi shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform
- Loss or damage resulting from transportation services provided by third-party taxi partners
- Inaccuracies in fare estimates, route information, or partner details
- Service interruptions, website downtime, or technical errors
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Local Taxi, its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.
10. Payment Terms
For instant bookings, Local Taxi collects an advance payment online through its payment technology partner Seraj Tourism, using the Razorpay payment gateway. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by the gateway; Local Taxi stores only transaction references needed to reconcile your booking.
The advance amount is determined by Local Taxi and may change at any time. The amount payable at checkout and the balance due are displayed to you before payment is taken. Any balance is settled with the partner as stated on your booking.
Travellers are charged the partner's fare. Should a platform or convenience fee be introduced in future, it will be disclosed as a separate line item before payment. Commissions payable by partners and drivers are pre-disclosed and are not added to traveller fares.
For enquiries, no payment is collected by Local Taxi; payment is settled directly with the partner on their terms.
11. Cancellation & Refunds
For instant bookings, the cancellation window and refund rule applicable to your trip is displayed to you at the time of booking and forms part of these terms for that booking. Refunds, where due, are initiated by the Local Taxi team or the taxi partner and are processed back through Seraj Tourism / Razorpay to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or payment provider.
For enquiries and amounts paid directly to a partner, cancellation and refund policies are determined by that partner and should be confirmed with them at the time of booking.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
