Our Story

Local Taxi was born from a simple frustration: why is it so hard to find a reliable taxi in India without overpaying? Every traveller visiting Manali, Shimla, or any Indian city faces the same problem — no transparency on pricing, no way to verify drivers, and middlemen inflating costs at every step.

We set out to change that. Local Taxi is a platform where verified local taxi operators showcase their services, vehicles, and pricing transparently. Travellers can compare, read real reviews, and contact partners directly — with no surge pricing and no surprises. Travellers never pay us; we earn a small commission from the partner or driver when we share a lead or a booking is confirmed.

How Local Taxi Earns (and Why That Matters to You)

We believe travellers deserve a straight answer about who pays for what. So here it is:

• Travellers pay the fare, not a platform charge. Browsing, comparing, reading reviews and submitting an enquiry are free. On an instant booking you pay an advance online — that money goes towards your fare, and the balance is shown on your booking. A platform fee may be introduced in future; if it ever is, it will appear as a separate line item before you pay — never added silently.
• Payments are handled by a specialist partner. Online payments are processed by our payment technology partner Seraj Tourism through the Razorpay gateway. Local Taxi never sees or stores your card, UPI or bank details. The advance amount is set by the Local Taxi team and can change at any time — whatever applies to your trip is shown at checkout before you pay.
• Cancellations and refunds are shown before you commit. The cancellation window and refund rule for your trip is displayed at the time of booking. Refunds are initiated by the Local Taxi team or the taxi partner and processed back through Seraj Tourism / Razorpay.
• Partners and drivers pay a small, transparent commission — and only when we deliver value. Specifically, a pre-disclosed commission applies when we share a qualified lead with a partner or driver, or when a booking is confirmed through the platform.
• No hidden bidding, no surge loading. The fare you see on a partner's page is the partner's actual fare. Our commission is paid out of the partner's earnings — it is not added on top of your price.

This model keeps incentives aligned: we only grow when partners actually earn, and partners only pay when travellers actually engage.
